Amanda Lambert is a London-based art advisor working with private and corporate clients to build and grow their art collections.
Experience:
Passionate about art, Amanda began her career in Paris working for Sotheby's and then Aguttes auction house at Hotel Drouot in the departments of Impressionist and Modern European and Russian art. Her interest in art crime and detecting forgeries led her to London to gain her MA at the Courtauld Instutute of Art in Northern Renaissance painting where she wrote her dissertation on contentious attributions. After working for a high-end art advisor, Amanda pursued her interest in collecting and discovering emerging talent by founding a pop-up gallery on the Hollywood Road in Chelsea with a programme of exhibitions by artists she represented.
This gallery project quickly evolved into A.K. Lambert art advisory.
Approach:
Amanda's approach is collaborative and personalised. The process begins by sitting down with her clients to understand their art collecting goals, interests and budget, with the aim to draw up a step-by-step plan. Amanda is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and providing access and exposure to established and emerging art. Ultimately, she strives to make the searching and buying process transparent, efficient and enjoyable. Amanda advises mainly on modern and contemporary art but is also experienced advising on impressionist and old masters painting and sculpture.
Education:
In addition to an MA in the history of art from the Courtauld, Amanda holds an MA in French from Middlebury College and the Sorbonne and a BA from Vanderbilt University.
